8-year-old Slept Next To His Pregnant Mother Without Realizing She Had Left Her Life

The boy still determined to wake his mom up and call neighbours for help, it was then that she was found to leave her life.
What could be more horrifying for an 8-year-old child than having to realize that his pregnant mother, who he had so lovingly slept next to the whole night, breathed her last all along? This is what happened with Ashley M. Garcia’s son. 2ClickHouston reported that the boy was told by mother’s boyfriend, Alexis Armando Rojas-Mendez, 23, that his mother was fast asleep and that he must not disturb her. The innocent child slept next to her without realizing the horror of it all. It was only on waking up did the boy notice that something was wrong.


The brave little boy was still determined to wake his mother up. He went to get some neighbors to help but everything was too late. His mother had already breathed her last hours earlier at their apartment in De Solo Street, Houston. The police were called in, and the young mother, who was seven-week pregnant at the time, was declared that she left her life. Investigators found spattered b.l.o.o.d on the apartment’s floors and walls. They found Garcia’s body to have blunt force trauma to her head and body.


The Police are on the lookout for Garcia’s boyfriend, who had clearly fled the scene before he could get caught. Reportedly, Mendez is now wanted on a charge of takking Garcia’s life. The little boy had told the police that he had witnessed Mendez physically hit his mother earlier that night. More specifically, he saw Mendez beating his mother with his steel-toe work boots before leaving their house. However, the child was not the only witness because a neighbor claimed to have seen Mendez hit Garcia at a parking lot that day. The neighbor further described that it seemed like Mendez was trying to force Garcia along with her son into the jeep with him but she refused. As a result, he dragged her back to her apartment where he committed the heinous c.r.i.m.e.


While the police was investigating, they found that Mendez had contacted his sisters for some money and claimed it was for an “out-of-the-town” job, but his sisters refused. They also told the police that he sounded “stressed out” during the call. Garcia’s grieving family hopes their dear one receives justice soon. Garcia’s sister Yessenia told 2ClickHouston: “I have so many mixed emotions. I am sad, I am angry, I just want justice for her, that’s all I want, I want her to be at peace,”.

The news of the incident soon became viral on social media. While hoping justice is served soon enough, people are also praying for Garcia’s three children, especially her 8-year-old son, who has seen the worst. Many people praised the boy for being incredibly brave in a situation like that. A trait he probably gets from his mother as earlier Yessenia told 2ClickHouston that her younger sister was a great parent and stated that the three kids were very similar to their beloved mother. Yessenia said: “You know, those kids are so much like her, It’s crazy,”.
