Did you know that you only need one ingredient to produce a wonderful, creamy, probiotic-rich yogurt at home? Pure, gut-friendly goodness produced from oats without any additional additions or preservatives!
How to Make Oat Yogurt (1 Ingredient!)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rolled oats (or steel-cut oats)
- 3 cups of filtered water
Directions:
- Soak the oats: put them in a bowl and pour water over them. Soak them for six to eight hours, or overnight.
- Blend: After draining the soaked oats, blend them until smooth with three cups of fresh water.
- Ferment: Fill a sanitized jar with the blended oat milk. Place a permeable cloth over it and leave it at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours (fermentation is accelerated in warm environments).
- Check for fermentation: it’s ready when it smells sour and yogurty. Give it a good stir, then chill it.
