The trick to spotting (and removing) a mosquito hiding in the bedroom

You’re finally resting down, preparing to go asleep… but a faint buzzing noise disrupts the mood. That nasty mosquito is surrounding you again and never reveals itself! You’ve tried everything: turned on the light, pulled the blanket up to your nose… nothing works. What if the solution was right in your palm?

A simple technique… using your phone!

Yes, you read it correctly. There’s no need to get up or become a mosquito ninja. You only need your smartphone. What’s the idea? Light and carbon dioxide from your exhale attract mosquitos. Easy as pie.

This is how you do it:

  • Lie comfortably on your back in bed. Inhale deeply.
  • Turn your phone’s brightness to maximum.
  • Place it on your chest with the illuminated screen facing up.
  • Bend your knees if your linens are light in hue. This provides a more apparent background for locating the insect.
  • Blow gently toward the phone. Carbon dioxide naturally draws mosquitos.
  • Wait for a few minutes. The insect, intrigued by the light and your breath, will approach…
  • Once it has been placed on or around the screen, it is your time!

No more disturbed nights caused by a discreet mosquito.

This method is equally effective against both normal and tiger mosquitos. And, to be truly prepared, put a tiny object on hand to assist you with easily eliminating it. There is no need to go at it with your bare hands unless you have the soul of a night hunter!

Another tip: avoid crushing the beast with your hands, unless you want to leave unpleasant markings on your linens… A cloth or a tiny notebook can do the job!

What if the sting is already there?

Too late; have you already been bitten? Don’t worry, we all have simple home cures to relieve itching. A drop of lavender essential oil (always diluted), a little cider vinegar, or even a slice of lemon applied to the affected area can be quite soothing.

Bonus: Why do certain people always get bitten?

There are those who never get bitten, and those who are prime targets. It’s all about body odor, blood type, and even the temperature of your skin. Curious to learn more? We cover everything in our dedicated article right here!

As you can see, this technique does not involve any special equipment, spray, or gadgets—only a little patience and a phone. We all have one within grasp.
