“The Memory Trick”

Two elderly men were sitting on a park bench, feeding pigeons.

One of them, George, said proudly:

“I started going to a memory clinic last month.”

His friend, Bill, raised an eyebrow:
“Oh yeah? Does it actually work?”

George nodded confidently:
“Absolutely. They taught me this amazing trick—word association. It’s changed everything.”

Bill leaned in:
“Really? Like what?”

“Well,” George said, “you connect things. For example, if you want to remember someone’s name, you link it to something familiar.”

Bill looked impressed:
“That actually sounds useful. So… what’s the name of the clinic?”

George paused.

Then frowned.

“Hmm… give me a second…”

He scratched his head.

“What’s the name of that thing… you write with… has ink…?”

Bill said:
“A pen?”

George snapped his fingers:
“Yes! That’s it!”

Then he turned to his wife across the bench and shouted:

“Pen! What’s the name of that clinic I go to?!”
