A fifteen-year-old Amish boy and his father were taking a rare trip to a massive, modern shopping mall. They were completely mesmerized by the flashing lights, the bustling crowds, and the sheer scale of everything around them.
But what caught their attention more than anything else was a pair of shiny, silver walls that magically slid apart and then smoothly snapped back together.
Wide-eyed with wonder, the boy looked up and asked, “What on earth is this, Father?”
The father, who had never seen or even heard of an elevator in his entire life, shook his head in disbelief and responded, “Son, I have never seen anything like this in all my days. I have absolutely no idea what it could be.”
As the two stood there staring in absolute amazement, an elderly, frail woman in a wheelchair rolled up to the moving walls. She calmly reached out her hand and pressed a small, glowing button on the wall.
Instantly, the silver doors slid open, and the lady rolled right between them into a tiny, windowless room. The doors swiftly slid shut behind her.
Fascinated, the boy and his father watched as a row of small numbers above the door began to light up one after the other. They watched intently as the numbers climbed to the very top, paused for a moment, and then began to light up in reverse order, counting all the way back down.
Finally, a soft chime rang out, and the shiny silver walls glided open once again.
But the old lady in the wheelchair was gone. Instead, a stunning, gorgeous 24-year-old blonde stepped out of the small room, smiling brightly as she walked past them.
The father stood frozen to the spot. Without taking his eyes off the young woman for even a fraction of a second, he leaned down and whispered urgently to his son:
“Go get your mother.”
