A man was relaxing at home when there was a knock at the front door.
He opened it and found two sheriff’s deputies standing there.
One deputy asked, “Sir, are you married?”
“Yes,” the man replied.
“Could we see a picture of your wife?”
The man grabbed a photo and handed it over.
The deputy studied it for a moment, then looked at him with a serious expression.
“I’m very sorry, sir… but it looks like your wife has been hit by a truck.”
The man calmly nodded.
“I know.”
The deputy looked shocked. “You know?”
“Of course,” the man replied. “But she has a wonderful personality… and she’s an excellent cook.”
The deputy stared at him for a moment and said, “Sir, I was talking about the picture!”
