Trong Nhan (born in 1996 and living in Ho Chi Minh City) dropped weight from 230kg to 140kg in 7 months using a combination of exercise, nutrition, and complementary medicine as prescribed by professionals.
Trong Nhan is now a well-known figure in the weight reduction community after revealing his journey and strategies for shedding dozens of kg in more than half a year on social media platforms. His TikTok channel has almost 180,000 subscribers.
The 9x person stated that he was starving as a child, and his mother did everything she could to feed him. Following that, he began to gain weight uncontrollably. By sixth grade, Nhan was the heaviest in school. At 23 years old, he weighed 264 kg. For many years, he ate excessively, frequently consumed fast food, and drank up to 2 liters of soft drinks every day, which contributed to his condition.
“Having diabetes makes my fat storage mechanism different from normal people. A normal person’s blood sugar index is about 5 to 7 mmol per liter, but mine is over 19. My skin has many black thorns, thick belly fat and a lot of excess flesh. Just walking a short distance makes me out of breath, strenuous exercise is impossible,” he said.
The 9x guy did not want to be stuck in a heavy body after losing weight and gaining it back, causing his family to worry, and his mental and physical health to be severely affected. He decided to go to the weight loss center of coach Phan Bao Long with the “Bye Fat” method at the end of 2023. At that time, his weight was 230 kg.

Regarding exercise, in the early days, because of his excess weight and limited mobility, he was taught to swim and walk underwater. Swimming is considered a golden exercise for obese people because it burns a lot of energy, contributing to improving the flexibility of the hips and legs – areas where obese people are very inflexible.
A meal still provides appropriate nourishment, including protein, starch, fiber, low-sugar fruits, and drinking more than 8 liters of water each day. Meals are divided into small amounts, with each meal spaced two hours apart, and there are supplementary snacks such as unsweetened yogurt, almonds high in beneficial fats, or fruits with a low glycemic index, which assist Nhan avoid feeling acute hunger.
“The weight loss journey is not over yet, my goal is to lose weight to 70 kg, then maintain it. I want to inspire people to live a healthy life through my life lessons, through my transformation journey, experiences, and the weight loss knowledge I have learned,” he shared.
