
A man came to buy a farm.
Everything looked perfect.
Until he saw it.
A snake.
Coiled quietly near the fence.
He stopped.
“That thing dangerous?”
The farmer shrugged.
“Never bitten anyone.”
The man didn’t look convinced.
“Alright,” he said.
“I’ll test it.”
That night, he asked to be tied to a tree.
Alone.
No protection.
“If it bites me,” he said,
“I take the farm for free.”
“And if it doesn’t?” the farmer asked.
“I’ll pay double.”
Morning came.
The farmer rushed out.
The man was still there.
Alive.
Barely.
Leaning forward.
Face pale.
The farmer panicked.
“Did it bite you?!”
The man shook his head slowly.
“No bites.”
Pause.
“I’ll pay double.”
The farmer exhaled in relief.
Then the man looked past him.
Toward the field.
Long silence.
“…but tell me something…”
The farmer frowned.
“…does that calf…”
Pause.
“…have a mother?
