Elon Musk’s son, X Æ A-12, was the center of attention during his visit to the White House this week, with a particular focus on what he told the President.
The four-year-old, known as X for short, looked to be quite the distraction during the critical meeting at the Oval Office, pulling a number of faces, climbing all over his father, and even appearing to wipe his bogies on the Resolute desk.
This came as the 53-year-old SpaceX founder and Trump, 78, answered a series of questions after the latter signed an executive order mandating government agencies to collaborate with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in its efforts to reduce costs, despite opposition.
The internet has been trying to figure out what Little X said to Trump during the encounter, with some believing that he told the president, “I want you to s.h.u.t your mouth up.”
Meanwhile, other viewers heard the little child warn the US president, “You are not the president; you need to go away.”
One viral tweet on Musk’s social media site X suggested the explanation for little X’s statements.
The tweet, which has 44,000 likes as of writing, contains a short video of the four-year-old purportedly saying to Trump, “I want you to s.h.u.s.h your mouth.”
An X user quoted the video and suggested: “I think the right way to read this kind of behaviour is this is what he heard from his dad.”
This is definitely a bold claim given that Trump and Musk are close friends, but X user @isaiah_bb appears to have created a conversation in which dozens of other social media users agreed with him.
“Kids are innocent, they mostly pick up the things which are spoken in their presence,” one person responded. “Definitely he heard someone saying that.”
Another user wrote: “You learn from your environment.”
While someone else said: “Kids are parrots. They will repeat the things they hear.”
Other commenters suggested that Lil X was speaking to a member of the press in the Oval Room rather than the president.
“I don’t think he was even talking to Trump. He was talking to whoever was on his left side,” a spectator suggested.
Grimes, real name Claire Boucher, has since spoken out following her son’s appearance in the Oval Office, which became a hot subject online.
She posted a message on Musk’s platform X about the situation.
In response to another user, she wrote, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
