A man stormed into the police station the morning after his house had been burglarized.
“I need to speak to the idiot who broke into my house last night!” he demanded.
The desk sergeant looked up calmly and said,
“You’ll get your chance in court, sir.”
“No, no,” the man replied, waving his hands impatiently.
“You don’t understand.”
The officer frowned.
“Then what exactly do you want?”
The man leaned in closer and lowered his voice.
“I want to know how he got into my house… searched every room… and got back out again…”
He paused dramatically.
“…without waking my wife.”
The officer blinked.
The man sighed deeply and shook his head.
“I’ve been trying to do that for twenty years.” 😄
