However, what is the drawback that arises whenever we buy them? Obviously, the fact that they wear out. However, did you know that there are so-called eternal candles? They are the ones that never stop smelling. Here’s how you can make them at home, too, with just a few ingredients.
The candle that never stops smelling: here are the ingredients to make it
Among the most fashionable and popular accessories of the moment are the candles that adorn the homes of many people. Protagonists of decoration and design, there are not only beautiful ones, but also super scented ones.
However, when we buy candles we know that sooner or later they will end up being consumed – when the wax with which they are made wears out – and, above all, that they will stop smelling: their smell will become imperceptible.
If we told you, however, that there is a candle that never stops smelling, would you believe it? We’re talking about the definite eternal. You can make it at home with just a few ingredients.
Curious about how? Well, let’s get started right away. First, you need the lime, which you can find at the grocery store or supermarket. With the help of a knife, cut at least four slices.
In a jar, which will later serve as the base for our candle (make sure it is strictly glass) pour three tablespoons of coarse salt and four slices of lime.
Next, add enough water to cover the file and finally a handful of cloves. Then also a few drops of lemon essential oil or your favorite fragrance (we recommend using citrus fragrances so that the pleasant smell lasts as long as possible).
Finally, pour in a heaping tablespoon of cooking oil. Next, get a plastic cup and with the help of scissors cut the base. Using a screwdriver, poke a hole in the center of the plastic.
Take the wick of a candle that you are going to chop so that it is whole and insert it through the hole you have made in the bottom of the glass. Now place it in your glass jar, in which you have previously put salt, lime, olive oil and drops of essential oil.
That’s it. Your eternal candle is ready. Try lighting it and you will see that the pleasant aroma will intoxicate every room in your house. With a few simple ingredients – which you will also have in your pantry – you can make the candle that never stops smelling.
