John and Mary had been married for 60 years.
They did everything together, but as they grew older, John’s hearing started getting worse.
One day, John visited his doctor and was fitted with a brand-new, state-of-the-art hearing aid.
It was completely invisible and gave him perfect hearing.
A month later, John returned for a check-up.
The doctor smiled and said, “John, your hearing is excellent! Your family must be thrilled that you can hear everything again.”
John smiled.
“Oh, I haven’t told my wife yet.”
The doctor looked confused.
“Why not?”
John leaned closer and whispered,
“I’ve just been sitting quietly and listening to her conversations.”
The doctor raised an eyebrow.
“And?”
John smiled.
“In the past month, I’ve changed my will three times.”
The doctor nodded.
“Sounds like the hearing aid is working perfectly.”
John replied,
“Oh, it’s working better than I expected.”
