A wealthy man noticed an unusually attractive woman sitting alone at a bar.
He asked the waiter to send her a bottle of expensive Merlot.
The waiter delivered the wine and said,
“This is from the gentleman over there.”
The woman glanced at the bottle, then sent the man a note.
It read:
“To accept this wine, you need a Mercedes in your garage, a million dollars in the bank, and… one very impressive measurement.”
The man smiled and wrote back:
“Just so you know, I have a Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche.”
“I own homes in Aspen and Miami, a 10,000-acre ranch, and I have $20 million in the bank.”
He paused, then added:
“But there’s one thing I absolutely refuse to do for any woman…”
“Give up three inches of what I’ve already got.”
“So please… send the wine back.”
The waiter took the bottle away.
The woman stared after it.
The man calmly ordered another drink.
Apparently, even with $20 million in the bank, there are some negotiations you simply don’t make.
