I was at Walmart and stepped into the restroom for a little privacy.
I had barely closed the stall door when a voice from the next stall suddenly said,
“Hey! How are you?”
A little confused, I replied,
“Uh… I’m alright.”
The voice asked,
“So, what are you up to?”
I awkwardly answered,
“Just… taking care of a little business over here.”
Then came the question:
“Can I come over?”
I froze.
“Excuse me?!”
There was a brief silence.
Then the voice suddenly said,
“Listen, I’ve got to call you back!”
“There’s some idiot in the next stall answering all my questions!”
I sat there in complete silence.
Turns out I wasn’t having a weird conversation with a stranger after all…
I was just accidentally auditioning for someone else’s phone call.
